Teeth Whitening System Usage Instructions

ThermoForm Trays

ProLab Impression Trays

Whitening Gel

  ThermoForm (Boil-n-Bite) Bleaching Trays

1.

Boil a pot of water and then reduce heat slightly so that water is no longer bubbling.

2.

While holding onto the tab on front of bleaching tray, soften the bleaching tray by submerging it into boiling water for 3-10 seconds (you will notice the tray begin to wilt). The bleaching tray must be softened enough to properly make a mold of your teeth. NOTE – Overheating may damage or over-shrink the bleaching tray.

3.

Allow the bleaching tray to cool just enough to eliminate the possibility of burning your mouth during the molding process. Position the bleaching tray over your teeth, bite firmly into the bleaching tray and apply pressure with your fingers to the front of the bleaching tray. At the same time, press your tongue on the roof of your mouth and such all of the air and water from the inside of the bleaching tray.  Let the bleaching tray cool and harden. Then remove bleaching tray from your mouth. NOTE – You may reheat the bleaching tray and repeat steps 2-3 if necessary to attain optimum results.

4.

After the bleaching tray has hardened, place it into your mouth to assure a comfortable fit. If the bleaching tray covers too much of your gums or continues past your rear (molar) teeth, you may use scissors to trim the excess material from the bleaching tray. If you are satisfied with the results of the fit, use scissors to cut the holding tab off of the front of the bleaching tray.

5.

Repeat steps 1-4 for each bleaching tray.

ProLab (Laboratory Impression-Based) Bleaching Trays

1.

Remove the impression trays and material from the package.  Your hands must be clean and dry before mixing the impression materials.  Open one set of impression material (one container of blue putty and one container of yellow putty).  Quickly mix the two colors of putty together.  Knead and roll the two colors together, like mixing play dough, until fully blended into one color.  Make sure that the putties are blended completely into one color (not two colors swirled together).  Total mixing time should be less than 20 seconds.  At 30 seconds, the material begins to harden.  Roll the material into a cylindrical shape and place in the plastic impression tray.

2.

Take the tray filled with the impression material and place over the center of your upper teeth.  Push the tray over your teeth with firm pressure while making sure that your teeth do not touch the plastic of the tray.  Your teeth must be surrounded by the impression putty and not be touching the plastic.  Make sure that your teeth and gums sink into the impression putty just past the level of your gums (your gums should be imbedded into the impression putty about ¼ of an inch). The impression material will squeeze through the holes in the tray).  Keep the tray in place over your teeth for three minutes.

3.

Once the impression tray has been in place for three minutes, remove the tray from your mouth while leaving the impression material in the tray.  Do not remove the material from the tray unless you need to retake your impressions.  Rinse the impression with cold water and inspect.  It is not necessary that your back teeth (rear molars) are included in the impression.  However, it is critical that the front six teeth and gum line are clearly visible.  The fit of your custom trays will depend on how precise you create your impressions.  If needed, an extra set of impression material is included.  The same tray may be used again if necessary.

4.

Repeat the above steps for your lower teeth.

5.

Place your impressions in the original pre-addressed, prepaid shipping envelope, seal the envelope and mail back to us via standard US Postal Service. When we receive your impressions, we will fabricate your custom trays and return them to you within five to seven business days.  When you receive your professional dental mouthpieces, please follow the below instructions.

6.

Squeeze Whitening gel into the front of your tray Your don't need to over fill it.

7.

Place tray over your teeth for 1-3 hours.  Repeat this process for both upper and lower teeth once per day until teeth have reached desired shade of white.

Dental Whitening Gel Usage

1.

Brush your teeth each time before using the dental whitening system. The whitening gel is most effective on clean teeth.

2.

Make sure that bleaching trays are clean and dry before applying whitening gel into them. NOTE – Moisture reduces the efficacy of the whitening gel and slows down the whitening process.

3.

Apply a small amount of whitening gel around the front interior of the bleaching tray is such as way that the gel will completely cover the front surface of your teeth.

4.

Position the bleaching tray over your teeth and press gently so that the whitening gel covers the entire front surface of your teeth. Discard and overflow gel by spitting or wiping it from your mouth. Wear bleaching trays from 30 minutes to 3 hours.  NOTE – Start slowly and build up your wear-time. You may wear your trays overnight if you have no sensitivities.  Longer wear-times create faster whitening results. As an average, optimum results are achieved after 20-30 cumulative hours of wear-time.

5.

Upon completion of your whitening session, clean the bleaching trays with warm water and toothbrush and store in a safe place.

6.

Conduct your whitening session once per day until desired level of whitening is attained. NOTE – You may skip days between whitening sessions to minimize sensitivities.  This will not affect the cumulative whitening process.

7.

Be sure to keep your whitening gel refrigerated when not in use.

Sensitivities: Your teeth or gums may become mildly sensitive. This is common while using products containing peroxide and it is not harmful.  In case of increased sensitivity, reduce usage time and/or frequency until this problem stops.

Warnings:  Keep out of reach of children. Pregnant or nursing women consult physician before use.
